The U.S. government ran a program for investigating reports of unidentified flying objects until 2012, the Department of Defense confirmed for ABC News.

As first reported by The New York Times and The Washington Post, the once secret program was funded from 2007 to 2012. According to The New York Times, the DOD spent $22 million on the program.

"The Advanced Aviation Threat Identification Program ended in the 2012 time frame," the Pentagon told ABC News in a statement. "It was determined that there were other, higher priority issues that merited funding and it was in the best interest of the [DOD] to make a change. The [DOD] takes seriously all threats and potential threats to our people, our assets and our mission and takes action whenever credible information is developed.“

    Secret Pentagon UFO program revealed

According to initial reports, the program investigated years of reports of UFOs, and the program was funded at the request of now former Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., who has expressed interest in investigating unexplained phenomena in outer space.

Is Slim Shady ready for his return?

Four years after The Marshall Mathers LP 2, Eminem will reportedly release his eighth major label solo studio album on Nov. 17, according to HITS Daily Double.

The news comes shortly after frequent collaborator Denaun Porter said that Eminem was “done” with his latest effort. The rapper-producer later walked back those comments, claiming he was simply trolling the trolls on his Instagram Live feed.

But the revelation also follows rumors about a Pink collaboration titled “Revenge” and its forthcoming music video. It was later confirmed that the song is for Pink’s new album Beautiful Trauma, which drops Friday.

Previously Allen Hughes and 2 Chainz both claimed that Eminem was working on his next album. Tity Boi would later redact his comments, saying he didn’t know what Eminem was up to.

Aside from working on his next solo LP, Slim Shady is also teaming up with longtime collaborator-mentor Dr. Dre for new music for Joseph Kahn’s Bodied, a battle rap-based film that Em is producing.

  • Mase had once accused Fab of stealing his style, flow and question if he (Mase) penned one of Fab rhymes. Both have common commercial appeal and make music for the ladies. And both are deadly on the mic. which one do you say is better? And did Fab take Mase styles?

    Beat for Beat

I just got this thread idea I wanted to try out. Only one beat allowed per post, but post a beat from the other producer better than the beat in the post above yours. Instrumentals only please. You don’t necessarily gotta start with their best work, just post something you think at minimum is a better beat than the previous posted. Almost like spades.
the main point of saying one beat per post is so that the beats posted fall in sequential order alternating between one Pete Rock beat and one 9th Wonder beat at a time, like a battle (In a battle they only get to play one beat before the other guy answer back with his beat.)
it doesn’t matter who post the next one up, but whoever post first let that one ride till someone answer back with the next one after that..and each poster can contribute more than one beat in the thread, but let it only be one poster at a time keeping in mind that the beats must alternate between Pete and 9th. Again we posting a single beat by either Pete or 9th that is harder the previous beat posted, alternating back and forth between Pete and 9th beats.

I want to see if this can become a like an ongoing series...not sure how successful it can be..i'll have to make improvements as we go along

Also go ahead and vote while you at it.

I’m gonna start this off with a beat from Pete even though I think 9th is technically better than Pete at this point.

    Pete Rock

You know what it is, make it better than the last

The Bible and its stories about the first man and the creation of the world are not true because there is no physical evidence to back it up, according to a new lengthy investigation from one of Israel's top newspapers. Spanning roughly 5,000 words the article from left leaning Haaretz compares accounts in the Bible, from ancients Jews fleeing Egypt to descriptions of King David, and dismisses them all as fables.

"Is the Bible a True Story," the headline asks. "Despite feverish searching with Scripture in one hand and cutting-edge technology in the other, evidence backing the Bible remains elusive."

It goes on: "No evidence of the events described in the Book of Genesis has ever been found. No city walls have been found at Jericho, from the appropriate era, that could have been toppled by Joshua or otherwise. The stone palace uncovered at the foot of Temple Mount in Jerusalem could attest that King David had been there; or it might belong to another era entirely, depending who you ask."

Researchers have long questioned the authenticity of the Bible's version of human history, often struggling to find evidence of, say, Noah's ark or even the possibility of Eve and Adam, the first woman and man. Young-Earth creationism, for example, directly fails science's demands for coherence and hypothesis testing.

The mounting evidence against the Bible means fewer Americans than ever before are trusting scripture as gospel. Only 35 percent of Americans read the holy book at least once a week, while 45 percent seldom or never do, a Pew Research Center report in April found. About 36 percent of Christians said the Bible should not be taken literally, while 40 percent say it is the word of God. In all, only 24 percent of Americans said the holy book was "the actual word of God, and is to be taken literally, word for word," a Gallup poll conducted in May concluded.

"This is the first time in Gallup's four-decade trend that biblical literalism has not surpassed biblical skepticism. Meanwhile, about half of Americans -- a proportion largely unchanged over the years -- fall in the middle, saying the Bible is the inspired word of God but that not all of it should be taken literally," the poll said. "From the mid-1970s through 1984, close to 40% of Americans considered the Bible the literal word of God, but this has been declining ever since, along with a shrinking percentage of self-identified Christians in the U.S. Meanwhile, the percentage defining the Bible as mere stories has doubled, with much of that change occurring in the past three years."
