Do you consider sex the barrier?
What about kissing? Or just hanging out? Or emotionally opening up to someone of the opposite sex?
Let's throw out a hypothetical scenario to give colour to the discussion.
Say you go on a retreat. And your GF/BF is there. But at the retreat (b/c you're a social floater), you go around talking to anyone and everyone. Your GF/BF doesn't.
Then you start talking to a girl that is interested in you. You emotionally open up to her and hang out with her during the day, and at the same time bottle up emotionally to your GF in the evenings.
You're not interested in breaking off the relationship with you're GF, nor have you made it clear you want to be with the new girl.
But you've been accused of emotionally cheating.
Is this a scenario where flirting has crossed over into cheating? Even if nothing physical went on? Not even a kiss?
