I've got a question
What's that?
What's a coon look like? Is he tan? Is he black, white?
Anyways I've been doing a verse each week as a part of my 52 verses in 52 weeks project and this week's topic is on "Coons" and what they are supposedly are. Now I'll probably get called a coon, amongst other things, in this very thread and that's fine as long as someone learns something. Thing is, from what I've been seeing folks are just calling those with differing opinions a coon so honestly i feel it's lost it's meaning. (You don't think all white people are evil? : Coon.)
From what i understand the word "coon" came about from white slave owners/overseers/whatever as a derogatory term towards blacks that blacks now use as a derogatory term towards other blacks...which kinda makes no sense imo, but whatever.
Like a coon is supposed to be someone hindering black progress for the white man right? Yet some on here would call a show like Empire, a show with a black entertainment mogul styling on white folks coonery, yet praise Power...a show about murderous drug dealers. I kinda think there's no bigger coon than a drug dealer dealing poison to the community, but that's just me. Opinions, thoughts, feelings? Imma go listen to Killer Mike on brilliant idiots again in the meanwhile.
