We all know Jay Z had been trying to get on since 1986. He was rapping on and off during the late 80's-early 90's. He took valuable advice and put his energy into rapping. In his early years he made connections with Jaz O, Big Daddy Kane, Clark Kent, Irv Gotti, and Dame Dash and Biggs. He along with Dash and Biggs founded Roc A Fella records in 93. They actively tried to shop a deal for Jay when that failed that was when they decided to start the label.
Roc A Fella got a distribution deal from a small company so they were able to put out In My Lifetime. They were dropped but they manage to link up with Priority to distribute Reasonable Doubt. Thus the rest being history.
What if Jay Z never got the breaks he gotten, what if he decided to quit for good after no label decided to sign him, where do you think the game would have been all these years without him?
