7 people went undercover as inmates for 2 months, and they revealed harrowing details about an Indiana jail.
Would you spend a night in jail if you didn't have to?
What about two months?
Seven ordinary people did exactly that on A&E's new documentary series "60 Days In," which premieres on Thursday night. The show follows the participants' experiences as undercover inmates at an Indiana jail.
The volunteers — none of whom had criminal records — were booked on fake charges and assumed false identities during their stays at Clark County Jail in Jeffersonville.
Provided with a small stipend to compensate for not working, they lived among the jail's 500-inmate population without corrections officers or other inmates knowing their secret.
The show is the brainchild of Clark County Sheriff Jamey Noel, who said that he needed outsiders to give him an honest look at life behind bars.
"The only way to truly understand what was going on in the jail was to implement innocent participants into the system to provide first-hand unbiased intelligence," Noel said in a statement provided by A&E. "These brave volunteers helped us identify critical issues within our system that undercover officers would not have been able to find."
Aside from pointing out systematic problems, the participants provided Noel with key details about the social dynamics that govern daily life for inmates, he told Business Insider.
For example, some of the undercover inmates informed him of a strict hierarchy that dictated when inmates could use the bathroom. New inmates were expected to fork over food or items bought in the prison commissary in exchange for bathroom privileges, according to Noel.
"Even folks in corrections for 20-plus years had never heard of that," he said.
In one disturbing scene in an episode, two participants witness a bloody fight between inmates ignited by a mealtime dispute.
"The fight had an obvious cause and effect," a participant and former Marine, Zac, said on camera. "Ricky was supposed to give his hash browns to Cody. He didn't give his hash browns to Cody. He got beat up for it."
Another participant, a housewife named Barbara, told Business Insider that new inmates were especially vulnerable.
"When you go into jail and you're an inmate, and it's your first time, the other inmates automatically take advantage of you. They can sense it," she said. "I had things stolen from me. There were issues with taking a shower, trying to sleep, and where to sleep."
Over the course of two months, the participants said, they experienced violence and sexual harassment from fellow prisoners and witnessed drug use and deals between inmates. About 80% of the jail's population were there on drug-related charges, according to Noel.
Participants also confirmed to Noel a long-held suspicion: that some inmates had purposely gotten arrested because drugs were cheaper in jail than they were on the street.
Another participant, Maryum Ali — the eldest daughter of boxing great Muhammad Ali — said that the experience was "the most scared I've ever been in my life," People reported.
At the end of her two months, Ali told Noel that the jail needed better drug-treatment services, which led to the establishment of a Narcotics Anonymous program for inmates, Noel said.
According to an A&E representative, multiple corrections officers were fired as a result of events witnessed by participants.
And Noel's experiment has already led to at least one arrest. Using information gained from the undercover program, investigators arrested a woman who tried to smuggle drugs into the jail last month, according to southern Indiana newspaper News and Tribune and confirmed by Noel.
He became sheriff in 2014 and said that he hopes he can help the jail shed its reputation of corruption. The previous Clark County sheriff, Danny Rodden, signed a plea deal in federal court in 2014, admitting that he lied to the FBI to cover up an affair with a prostitute. He's also part of an ongoing federal lawsuit over the jail's drug court-treatment program.
A&E paid the jail $60,000 to make the series. Noel told Business Insider that the money would go toward improved guard training, an updated camera system, and a body scanner for the jail.
The network has already picked up the show for a second season, A&E announced on Tuesday.

Krayzie Bone of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony has revealed the reason he canceled portions of a tour in Canada, and it appears to be a more than worthy cause, as the rapper is battling sarcoidosis, an autoimmune disease that attacks the lungs and lymph nodes of the chest.
TMZ is reporting that Krayzie believes he suffered an “intense case of pneumonia” during his travels up north due to a weakened immune system cause by his sarcoidosis medication. The same condition led to comedian and actor Bernie Mac’s death in 2008.
In a tweet published on Thursday (Mar. 10), Krayzie apologized for the cancellations, writing, “Canada thank you for your support sorry I had to cut it short due to sickness but I will be back to make those dates up soon! Much love.” Krayzie is expected to reschedule the shows after receiving treatment in Los Angeles.
Bone Thugs-N-Harmony are set to perform four consecutive shows late next week in Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee and Missouri, and while there is no word yet if Krayzie will be available, it wouldn’t be at all surprising if he sat the dates out. In 2015, Krayzie released the solo album Chasing the Devil ten years after his previous solo effort Gemini: Good vs. Evil. Well wishes are extended out to Krayzie as he works on improving his health and getting back out on the road. Read his aforementioned tweet below.

Men should have the right to ‘abort’ responsibility for an unborn child
Article: Men should have the right to ‘abort’ responsibility for an unborn child.
What's your stance on the issue ?
I raised a similar thread 5 years ago (She said she ain't want kids, should the father still pay child support ?), and of course there were a lot of dissenters. But now that this shit seems more popular, and after reading the comments on FB today - I see a lot of "feminists" are cool with it (go figure).
Can the IC feminist females (and feminist dudes) now see the light ?
(I don't want to start @'ing folk to this shit but feel free to drop the females list. I expect anybody who said "No" in the last thread to weigh in on their present opinion.

The idea, proposed by a regional branch of the youth wing of the centrist Liberal Party [in Sweden] would allow a potential father to legally abdicate his responsibility toward the child up to the 18th week of a woman's pregnancy. The man would lose any rights to visit the child but also would not pay any child support he may otherwise be required to contribute.
Marcus Nilsen, chairman of Liberal Youth of Sweden (LUF) West, told the newspaper Aftonbladet that the idea had actually come from a group of women inside his party. "It is important to discuss the role of men in pregnancy," Nilsen explained, adding that the proposed system would make it clear when men are legally required to play a role in their child's life and when they are not.

Unwritten Reasons Women Don't Like You
These are from my experiences plus what I heard from other men and women. No particular order.
1.Women aren't used to thorough men. It actually scares a lot of them when they find all the needs and wants in a man, plus more, then she doesn't know how to handle it. You're just too good for her, she'll avoid you and maybe later on she'll realize her mistake.
2.You may be too attractive. How like a lot dudes are intimidated to approach or keep beautiful women, women are like toward men. If you look decent or dress nice, they think that you get around, you're a playa, she thinks her friends and family could try to get at you, etc. Her insecurity thinks that you can easily talk to other chicks or easily choose somebody else over her. Yes this it true and some females do like when their dude is admired by other women but it can hurt or help the situation.
3.She wants to be worth more than you. A lot of women are for hypergamy, which is understandable to me. Then you have those that want to be better than the man. They want to take care of and raise him as if she's the reason he's successful. They have this "behind a strong man is a strong woman" mentality which they got it all twisted by trying to change or upgrade lame dudes. We know that doesn't work most of the time because they create babies with them and then be on their own.
4.Not all women want a relationship, kids or to be married. Simple as that. You're into her, thinking she's wifey material but she never wants that role with any man.
5.Bad experiences. She may think you're like the rest. You can not do or say nothing wrong then all the sudden she stops talking to you. Something very small can trigger something that can turn her off whether you're in the right. Nothing you can do it she doesn't try or trust again.
6.She's too basic. Nothing excites her, just only restaurants and the club. A lot of them don't want to experience nothing new or afraid to. Don't like to travel or have fun. That's cool but seems boring. Mostly thot chicks only travel to Atlanta, Jamaica and Miami.....

GAME INFORMATION
Tom Clancy's The Division is an upcoming open world third-person shooter role-playing video game with survival elements developed by Ubisoft Massive with co-developers Ubisoft Annecy, Ubisoft Reflections, and Red Storm Entertainment for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It was announced during Ubisoft's E3 2013 press conference, together with a seven-minute gameplay demo and is set to release on March 8th, 2016.
The Division takes place in mid-crisis New York, an open world with destructive environments that is free for players to explore. The player's mission is to restore order by investigating the source of a virus. Players have to team up with other Division agents as they progress. The game's core mechanics are similar to other third-person-shooters, in which player character can carry three weapons, and explosives like sticky bombs and smart mines to fight against enemies. Players may take cover behind objects during firefights to avoid taking damage from enemies, and to give them a tactical advantage when attacking. As the game is set in a third-person perspective, the character model is visible.
As players progress, they earn experience points. They can use these points to customize their character, backpack, level up weapons and gear, and learn new talents and skills. Players have to complete missions to learn active talents such as the ability to throw healing grenades, deploy automated gun turret or use radar pulse, which can tag enemies. The game features a dynamic, time based weather system which may bring benefits or disadvantages to players. For instance, storms can hinder player's visibility and make aiming difficult. The game also features a day-night cycle which will change the behaviors of enemies in the game.
The game's world is filled with "Dark Zones", where a lot of high-end weapons are left behind when the military retreats in the game. It is separated from the main campaign and has its own progression system. Players discover valuable items inside a Dark Zone. However, these items, known as "infected loot", can be taken by other players in the zone, and will not be permanently attached to the player's character unless they are extracted from the zone through a helicopter. Players can be accompanied by several co-operative partners and other neutral, player-controlled agents. These people, however, can turn against the player at any moment, going rogue. Dark Zone is the player-versus-player competitive multiplayer mode featured in The Division. Players' level and ranking may drop if they die too often in the zone.

The General Business Thread
Alright yall this is a spinoff from the Tax Implications thread that was started by @JonnyRoccIT . I made this thread to help out anybody who has general questions about getting started or going forward, legal matters in business, financing/banks/credit, how to find information, building websites, structure, taxation, business plans/proposals, investing, motivation - anything that has to do with running a business please ask the question here and me or @pralims will answer you promptly.
Anything that has to do with even supplying apps or anything for that matter that can help someone, anybody, somewhere do something easier or better will be greatly appreciated.
To kick things off I have put the topics in spoilers to make the O/P organized and easier to browse for mobile users.
Business Entity/Legal Structures
Sole Proprietorship
The simplest structure is the sole proprietorship, which usually involves just one individual who owns and operates the enterprise. If you intend to work alone, this structure may be the way to go. The tax aspects of a sole proprietorship are appealing because the expenses and your income from the business are included on your personal income tax return, Form 1040. Your profits and losses are recorded on a form called Schedule C, which is filed with your 1040. The "bottom-line amount" from Schedule C is then transferred to your personal tax return. This is especially attractive because business losses you suffer may offset the income you have earned from your other sources.
As a sole proprietor, you must also file a Schedule SE with Form 1040. You use Schedule SE to calculate how much self-employment tax you owe. In addition to paying annual self-employment taxes, you must make estimated tax payments if you expect to owe at least $1,000 in federal taxes for the year after deducting your withholding and credits, and your withholding will be less than the smaller of:
1) 90 percent of the tax to be shown on your current year tax return or
2) 100 percent of your previous year's tax liability.
The federal government permits you to pay estimated taxes in four equal amounts throughout the year on the 15th of April, June, September and January. With a sole proprietorship, your business earnings are taxed only once, unlike other business structures. Another big plus is that you will have complete control over your business--you make all the decisions. There are a few disadvantages to consider, however. Selecting the sole proprietorship business structure means you are personally responsible for your company's liabilities. As a result, you are placing your assets at risk, and they could be seized to satisfy a business debt or a legal claim filed against you.Raising money for a sole proprietorship can also be difficult. Banks and other financing sources may be reluctant to make business loans to sole proprietorships. In most cases, you will have to depend on your financing sources, such as savings,
home equity or family loans.
Partnership
If your business will be owned and operated by several individuals, you'll want to take a look at structuring your business as a partnership. Partnerships come in two varieties: general partnerships and limited partnerships. In a general partnership, the partners manage the company and assume responsibility for the partnership's debts and other obligations. A limited partnership has both general and limited partners. The general partners own and operate the business and assume liability for the partnership, while the limited partners serve as investors only; they have no control over the company and are not subject to the same liabilities as the general partners.
Unless you expect to have many passive investors, limited partnerships are generally not the best choice for a new business because of all the required filings and administrative complexities. If you have two or more partners who want to be actively involved, a general partnership would be much easier to form.
One of the major advantages of a partnership is the tax treatment it enjoys. A partnership does not pay tax on its income but "passes through" any profits or losses to the individual partners. At tax time, the partnership must file a tax return (Form 1065) that reports its income and loss to the IRS. In addition, each partner reports his or her share of income and loss on Schedule K-1 of Form 1065.
Personal liability is a major concern if you use a general partnership to structure your business. Like sole proprietors, general partners are personally liable for the partnership's obligations and debts. Each general partner can act on behalf of the partnership, take out loans and make decisions that will affect and be binding on all the partners (if the partnership agreement permits). Keep in mind that partnerships are also more expensive to establish than sole proprietorships because they require more legal and accounting services.
The other portion is in the next post
As for what state is best to incorporate in, it really depends on what type of business you're trying to build. Please PM me and I may be able to assist you.
