Apart from all the great TV premiering in April, from ‘Game of Thrones‘ to ‘Orphan Black,’ ‘Veep‘ and more, AMC’s ‘Mad Men‘ will also kick off the first half of its final season, thanks to the 7-7 episode split of its seventh run. The first official teaser for the April 13 premiere has arrived, and it looks like unemployment has been plenty kind to our favorite former ad man.

In typical ‘Mad Men’ fashion, there’s only so much to see from the brief spot teasing the final season, though it looks at least like Don has found sunnier skies as he steps off a TWA airplane, donning his iconic fedora amid an unfamiliar skyline. Could Don have joined Pete and Teddy Chaough out West during his leave of absence from the firm, or might the erstwhile Dick Whitman have taken up with another jet-setting agency?

Last we heard of ‘Mad Men”s seventh and final season, production at LAX had been halted due to the shooting that erupted at the airport in early November, though it wasn’t clear what was being filmed. Lest we forget, “The End of an Era” will see the first seven episodes of ‘Mad Men’ season 7 airing consecutively this year, saving the final seven of the series for 2015.

Connecticut coach Jim Calhoun is expected to announce his retirement at a news conference Thursday, multiple sources told ESPN.com.

Calhoun, who coached the Huskies to three national titles, will be replaced by assistant coach Kevin Ollie, the sources said.

Terms of Calhoun's exit and Ollie's agreement were not finalized Wednesday.

A source close to Calhoun told ESPN.com that the Hall of Fame coach has had a lot of time to think about his retirement over the past month. Calhoun fractured his hip in early August after falling off his bicycle.

I'm talking about the documentary. Has anybody seen it? I recently watched it. It's an inspiring story of basketball, faith and perseverance.

It's also a story about how Lin's racial identity limited his success at every stage of his basketball career: how only one AAU team wanted him, how he only got one offer to play college ball despite leading his team to a state championship, and how teams in the NBA ignored his talent, even when he did very well in their workouts. I think blacks in non-black dominated fields should be able to relate.

‘Sinister Six’ and ‘Venom’ Movies to Be Released Before ‘Amazing Spider-Man 4′

A clear timeline is finally starting to materialize for the growing “Amazing Spider-Man” franchise.

According to Den of Geek, the villain-centered spinoffs “Venom” and “Sinister Six” will be released before “The Amazing Spider-Man 4,” which had initially been slotted for May 7, 2018.

“Before we know what we do with ‘Spider-Man 4,’ we’re going to do ‘Sinister Six,’ ‘Venom’ and ‘Spider-Man 3,’ “Amazing Spider-Man 2″ producer Matt Tolmach told Den of Geek. “There is going to be a lot of crossover in those movies. So we’re just not at ‘Spider-Man 4′ because we still have a whole other ‘Spider-Man’ movie and two other movies. So we don’t know yet what is going to be.”

However, a “Spider-Man” movie, but not necessarily an “Amazing Spider-Man” pic, will still hit theaters in May of 2018.

In addition to next month’s “Amazing Spider-Man 2,” Sony will release “Amazing Spider-Man 3″ on May 27, 2016. Marc Webb, who directed the original film in the rebooted movie series, will also helm the two aforementioned sequels. However, he will not return to direct a fourth chapter.

Drew Goddard is in negotiations to direct “Sinister Six” from his own script. “Venom,” on the other hand, will be directed by Alex Kurtzman from a screenplay written by Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Jeff Pinkner and Ed Solomon. It’s still unclear which film will arrive first.

Phil Ivey, one of the world's top poker players, is being sued by the Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa in Atlantic City, N.J. The casino accuses the poker star of noticing a defect in the cards being played during a baccarat session and parlaying that into a $9.6 million haul back in 2012, per Gillian Mohney of ABC'sWorld News (via ABCNews.com).

The suit alleges that the some of the cards made by Gemaco turned out to not have a perfectly symmetrical design on the back of the card. Ivey, the suit claims, was able to figure out what the first card to be dealt was – giving him a significant advantage over the “house,” or casino.

Brennan also reported that the casino employed the Gemaco playing cards and automatic shuffler that were used during the baccarat games in which it lost millions:

The poker celebrity and his partner, Cheng Yin Sun, are alleged to have practiced “edge sorting” to, in effect, “mark” the cards by forcing the dealer to handle the cards in a way such that “the leading edges of the strategically important cards could be distinguished from the leading edges of the other cards in the deck.” This, the casino says, is why Ivey wanted to keep the same deck and the automatic shuffler, which would leave the orientation of the cards unchanged.

This isn't the first time that Ivey, the self-proclaimed Tiger Woods and Michael Jordan of poker, has been in hot water for engaging in "edge sorting." Mayfair club Crockfords, a London-based casino, withheld £7.8 million pounds from him after it believed he used the tactic to work the system and gain an unfair advantage over the house in baccarat, per the Daily Mail.

After months of speculation and buzz, WCW legend Sting has officially signed with Vince McMahon and WWE, per a recent report.

In this week's (subscribers-only) Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer notes that the star is finally under contract, although what his exact role in the company will be going forward has yet to be determined:

Sting has signed his deal with WWE. Not sure of the details regarding what role he will play but he is scheduled to be on television at some point, but not right away...he deal described to me as being close for a while, but now it’s signed. Sting’s assumption was he would work with Undertaker, which many expected. With Undertaker losing, and his future being in question, that would be up in the air.

Of course, the recent launch of the WWE Network practically gives the performer a ready-made role.

Due to the new channel, wrestling legends are now in higher demand than ever.

Thanks to his importance in wrestling history, Sting can obviously be of great use to the fledgling network. He can participate in various WCW documentaries, round table interviews and other nostalgia-style programming.

Who knows? He could even be a cast member in the next season of Legends' House, as crazy as it sounds. (Ideally, he would also keep the face paint on throughout filming.)

No doubt the star will also end up in next year's Hall of Fame class, too. And could maybe serve as a goodwill ambassador for the product, like Mick Foley and Hulk Hogan before him.

As for using him as a wrestler? That's a bit more tricky.

It's not just The Undertaker's shocking loss to Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania XXX that presents a big problem. There's also Sting's physical condition to think about.

He is 54 years old, after all.

And he's been hindered by various shoulder problems and injuries in recent years. Towards the end of this TNA run you could really tell the physical wear and tear was catching up with him.

Some of his last matches were truly awful. Sadly, he's just not the performer that he used to be.

Even if WWE is willing to let him get in the ring and wrestle, would he be any good

Karyn Washington, the 22-year-old founder of the For Brown Girls website, which sought to empower chocolate-complexioned black women, died on April 8, reportedly committing suicide.

Her passing is a devastating loss for legions of black women who went online to seek refuge in any one of Washington’s many initiatives, including the #DarkSkinRedLip project, which knocked down beauty standards and encouraged black women to find and rock whatever shade of red lipstick that best suited them.

Early reports suggest that Washington suffered from depression as she coped with the loss of her mother.

Her supporters are expressing their condolences on Twitter and are beginning a conversation about the importance of addressing the issue of mental health in the black community.

SIMFEROPOL, Ukraine — As Russian-backed armed forces effectively seized control of Ukraine’s Crimean peninsula on Saturday, President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia requested —and received — authorization from the Russian Senate to use military force in Ukraine.

The actions signaled publicly for the first time the Kremlin’s readiness to intervene militarily in Ukraine, and it served as a blunt response to President Obama, who just hours earlier pointedly warned Russia to respect Ukraine’s sovereignty.

Within hours after receiving Mr. Putin’s request, Russia’s upper house of parliament, the Federation Council, voted to approve it, after a debate that warned of the apocalyptic consequences of failing to stop a fascist threat from spreading to Russia’s borders. The lawmakers directed considerable fury at President Obama and others in the West they accused of fomenting the upheaval in Ukraine.

The United States warned Russia on Wednesday against military intervention in Ukraine and said any incursion could lead to a broad international backlash.

Secretary of State John F. Kerry also pledged $1 billion in emergency U.S. loan guarantees to help Ukraine’s new, temporary government as it reels from the ouster of President Viktor Yanukovych last weekend.

“I don’t think there should be any doubt whatsoever that any kind of military intervention that would violate the sovereign territorial integrity of Ukraine would be a huge — a grave — mistake,” Kerry said in a roundtable interview with reporters.

The United States, United Nations and others would react, Kerry said, without specifying how.
